The celebrated artist has been compelled to hit the brakes on her soaring career due to a debilitating vocal infection, rendering her bedridden.
In an Instagram post dated October 17, 2023, Tiwa Savage disclosed her ongoing battle with a vocal virus. Following her doctors’ stern advice, she has reluctantly decided to take a hiatus from performing.
In her own words, “To my dear Savage Soldiers, I’ve been fighting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months.
I will unfortunately have to postpone all performances, including my first-ever headline arena show in London.
I’m heartbroken and devastated, but I have to do this to save what’s left of my voice. I’m so sorry. I love you all and promise to be back performing once I’m fully healed.”
Scheduled to make history as the first female Afrobeats artist to headline at Wembley Arena in November 2023, Tiwa Savage has regretfully postponed her show, as well as all her other upcoming performances, which will be rescheduled for a later date.
