Teni Apata, the Nigerian music sensation, recently shared her experience with a life-threatening throat infection and temporary voice loss.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, Teni disclosed that she received her diagnosis in July while recording her second album, “Tears of the Sun,” which is scheduled for release on November 17.
The singer recounted the challenges she faced and her journey to recovery.
Teni’s health issues began in July 2023 when she was diagnosed with a life-threatening throat infection. This diagnosis was accompanied by several instances of temporary voice loss.
Her doctors recommended a major operation to prevent permanent voice loss. In September, she was hospitalized due to exhaustion, and she received multiple injections over a five-day period.
Remarkably, by October, Teni had experienced a mild recovery in her singing voice without undergoing surgery.
She expressed gratitude for her healing journey and introduced her new single, “Malaika,” as a song of praise and thanksgiving to God for His mercy and grace.
With the release of “Tears of the Sun” just around the corner, Teni’s fans eagerly await her new album.
