Popular skit maker and comedian, Mariam Apaokagi, known by her stage name Taaooma, has announced the upcoming launch of a humanitarian foundation, the Mariam Apaokagi Initiative, aimed at aiding the less privileged in society.
The revelation took place during her visit to the residence of Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central Senatorial District in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Taaooma shared her vision for the foundation, expressing her commitment to giving back to society, with a focus on starting in Ilorin, her hometown.
She outlined various programs that the foundation plans to undertake and sought the senator’s assistance and collaboration to ensure the success of the initiative.
In response, Senator Mustapha commended Taaooma for her philanthropic initiative and assured her of his continuous support, emphasizing that his doors would always be open for collaboration.
As the Turaki of Ilorin and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Mustapha encouraged Taaooma to create value-driven content that addresses societal issues such as drug abuse and criminal activities.
