Nollywood star Charles Okocha has addressed recent allegations made against him by controversial singer Portable.
The singer accused Okocha of failing to pay him N20 million after an alleged endorsement deal, claiming that the actor received N40 million but refused to share the money.
In a video posted on Instagram, Okocha responded to Portable’s claims, stating that Portable had initially reached out to him for friendship.
According to Okocha, he invited Portable to an event with the intention of helping a fellow entertainer.
However, Okocha asserted that Portable did not contribute to the event and only came to enjoy himself with his crew and wife.
Okocha clarified that no formal agreements were signed, and he transferred a substantial sum of N5 million to Portable after the event.
In the video, Okocha addressed Portable directly, urging him to keep his name out of his statements and emphasizing that he does not engage in clout chasing.
The actor expressed his disappointment, stating, “I am a responsible man with two phenomenal kids. I have built this brand for a couple of years.
You can’t come out and taint my image. I have got a reputation to maintain, so I need to come out and clear the air.”
