The Lagos police have summoned Chioma Jasmine Okafor, the adopted daughter of actor Mr. Ibu, following allegations that she withdrew N300 million from the actor’s ailing donation account.
Doris Ogala, an actress, disclosed in a recent Instagram post that Stella Maris, Mr. Ibu’s wife, initiated the arrest of Jasmine and the actor’s sons.
Ogala asserted that Stella accused Jasmine of withdrawing the substantial amount from Mr. Ibu’s donation account, claiming it was to prevent the family from purchasing the new house she had requested.
According to Ogala, Jasmine and Mr. Ibu’s sons are currently detained at Alagbon police station.
“Ibu’s wife alleged that Jasmine moved 300 million out of the account Ibu’s wife allegedly wanted them to buy her new house from the money contributed so far for Ibu’s treatments.
That was why she arrested Jasmine but investigation states that the money contributed so is not even up to 300 million,” Ogala wrote.
Stating that the wife demanded a new house, citing issues with her current residence, Ogala questioned why Mr. Ibu made his second son a signatory to the bank account instead of the wife if their relationship was as good as claimed.
Confirming the situation, Aminat Amyegun, the police spokesperson at the Lagos FCID annex, acknowledged that the individuals are currently in custody at Alagbon.
She mentioned that while the police are working on charging them to court, the family is seeking a settlement. The investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
