The wife of the late Mohbad, Omowunmi, has revealed her intention to conduct a DNA test on her son, Liam, as discussions surrounding the paternity of the child have gained momentum since Mohbad’s untimely death on September 12.
Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, was buried the day following his demise.
The case took a surprising turn when the body of the 27-year-old music star was exhumed on September 21 by a joint team of police and health officials in Lagos for an autopsy.
The autopsy was conducted on the same day, with the police awaiting the results.
With speculation surrounding the child’s paternity, Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, expressed support for a DNA test to establish Liam’s “true” paternity.
In a recent conversation with Iyabo Ojo, Omowunmi disclosed that she has decided to remain silent on the matter until the coroner’s inquest on November 7.
She stated that this decision aims to prevent potential distractions and allow her to focus on seeking justice for her late husband.
She explained, “All I want is justice for my husband, which I believe the Nigerian government is working on.
After everything, I will either grant an interview or share my own story with the world, and a DNA test is definitely a must!”
The inquest began on October 13 at the Ikorodu magistrates’ court in Lagos. Joseph had previously alleged that Mohbad’s wife was involved in an affair with another Marlian Records signee.
