Popular Nollywood actor Kelechi Udegbe narrowly escaped a traumatic car accident, sustaining only minor injuries.
The news of this harrowing incident surfaced on Sunday, October 5, 2023, via a tweet from the actor’s manager, who disclosed that the accident took place in the late hours of Thursday, November 2, 2023.
Images and videos shared on social media depicted the severe damage inflicted upon the actor’s vehicle, which was left mangled and in disarray.
The rear tires were left suspended in the air, the car’s bonnet was split in half, and the windshield had shattered due to the impact.
One of the clips revealed Kelechi Udegbe in a hospital bed, wearing a neck brace for support. Fortunately, he sustained only minor injuries and is currently in the process of recovery.
In a statement, his manager conveyed, “I write this message with a heart full of mixed emotions and immense gratitude to God almighty for giving Kelechi ‘The Performer’ Udegbe a second chance at life.
At around 12 midnight on Thursday, November 2nd, I received a call from an unknown number informing me that Kelechi had been involved in an accident.
He suffered minor injuries, but he’s in good shape, and we can’t thank God enough for this miracle. Thank you to friends and family who have stood by him through it all. God bless you all.”
The manager further shared that he was contacted by an unknown individual at midnight on the night of the accident.
Kelechi Udegbe’s ATM card was discovered in his car after the incident, and his identity was traced back to his Instagram profile, leading to the revelation of his manager’s phone number.
