Funke Akindele, the Nigerian actress, says she does not perceive divorce from her ex-husbands as a failure.
The award-winning film star spoke about her failed marriages in an interview with Wazobia TV.
The filmmaker said she takes her personal life and relationships as it come.
She also said she is only focused on making an impact and influencing the younger generation.
Akindele revealed that she is striving to be there for her kids and fulfil her purpose.
“If you ask me now can you tell me one failure, I do not see it as a failure. My personal life – marriage, I just take it as it comes. My mental health is very important. My career is very important, darling,” she said.
“I have to make an impact. I have to empower a lot of people. I have to inspire young people out there. I have to stay strong for my children and my siblings. Why am I living? I have a purpose, so my head is up. Yes I cry, yes I break down, but after I cry, I just look in the mirror and say, ‘keep moving.”
Akindele was previously married to JJC Skillz, the Nigerian singer.
The pair tied the knot in 2016 and welcomed a set of twins in 2018.
But in June 2022, JJC Skillz announced his separation from Akindele.
Before JJC Skillz, the movie star was formerly married to Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, the politician. The marriage was dissolved after a year.
