TV personality Frank Edoho has expressed his dissatisfaction with the conduct of gospel singer Moses Bliss during his performance at the wedding reception of actress Ekene Umenwa.
The actress had recently tied the knot with movie producer Ifeanyi Ogbodo Alex on a Saturday.
A viral video from the event captured the moment when Ekene Umenwa knelt before Moses Bliss during his performance, and the two shared a hug, after which she returned to her husband, Ifeanyi Ogbodo Alex.
The incident ignited controversy and discussions.
Frank Edoho, reacting to the video, expressed his disapproval of the close interaction between the gospel singer and the bride.
Edoho argued that etiquette called for Moses Bliss to guide the bride back to her husband and help her regain her composure rather than embracing her.
He stated, “I can’t blame the singer for her reaction, but he shouldn’t have held her when she latched on to him like that. Direct the bride back to her husband and calm her euphoria. That’s the etiquette.”
Ifeanyi Ogbodo Alex, Ekene Umenwa’s husband, also responded to the controversy on Sunday, stating that he had no complaints about the incident.
Deacon Famous, the MC of the event, clarified that Ekene Umenwa’s act of kneeling was not for Moses Bliss himself but for the anointing that he represented.
Famous explained, “I was the one who invited Moses Bliss to the wedding to surprise because it was what she wanted. She wanted a worship session for her wedding.
She was not kneeling down for Moses; she was kneeling down for the anointing that Moses came with. She was kneeling down for the song he got from the spirit.
She was kneeling down to pray, to honor God, to honor the grace. The husband also went down on his own knees to pray. Ekene was not the only person on her knees; several other people also went on their knees to worship God.”
