Chef Damilola Adeparusi, widely known as Chef Dammy, was apprehended by the Ondo State Police Command on Thursday in response to a petition filed by her pastor, Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah.
The arrest and subsequent interrogation took place at the hands of police operatives from the AIG Zone 17 in Akure.
Zone 17’s spokesperson, DSP Adeoye Hakeem, clarified that the police received a petition against Chef Dammy, prompting her invitation for questioning.
In an official statement, Zone 17 explained, “A complaint was received by the office of AIG Zone 17 via a written petition against Chef Dammy.
She was then invited for interrogation, which she honored today as she came with a female staff from the office of Her Excellency, the First Lady of Ekiti State.”
The statement assured the public that justice would be served impartially. DSP Hakeem further revealed that Dammy, after complying with the police invitation, was released on administrative bail, with the investigation set to continue.
Chef Dammy gained public attention alongside her pastor, often referred to as Billionaire Dollar Prophet, during her four-day cook-a-thon from June 11 to June 15.
This culinary endeavor, involving the preparation of over 100 pots of food, sparked controversy, with some speculating that it was aimed at surpassing a record acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records, as inspired by her pastor.
