Burna Boy: I Don’t Make Money From Nigeria

Burna Boy, Grammy award-winning artiste, says he does not make money from Nigeria.

The music star was reacting to a Twitter user who had accused him of denying his motherland yesterday.

The drama started when the user aimed a subtle dig at the ‘African Giant’ crooner, describing him as “an average star back in Nigeria and Africa at large” before he rose to prominence.

But the ‘Ye’ singer took a swipe at the user, describing him as one of those “delusional” people on Twitter.

Amid the heated exchange, another user tweeted: “Burna boy go soon leave twitter NG for una” — referring to critics of the musician.

In his reaction, Burna Boy wrote: “Me wey no even be Nigerian artiste.”

His response, however, further prompted more comments from users who appeared to be unsatisfied with his remark.

“But you dey promote African culture and you Dey deny your own motherland, all na showbiz as usual,” a user fired back.

But in a follow-up response, the singer said he is only living in Nigeria because “I love my home and my people.”
